Tuesday, 1 April 2014, marked a historic day in the long and intensive scientific relations between Germany and the United Kingdom: The official opening of the first Max Planck Centre in Great Britain, in cooperation with its partner institution University College London, took place in the Royal Society, followed by a VIP dinner at the German House.
