Ambassador Boomgaarden talks to Pupils about Syria
Ambassador Boomgaarden welcomed pupils from Heysham High School at the German Embassy in London today to honour their engagement for human rights in Syria.
Enlarge image Ambassador Boomgaarden welcomes pupils from Heysham High School (© German Embassy London) The group has started a campaign in order to raise awareness for the situation in Syria and to support humanitarian efforts for the Syrian people. The pupils were accompanied by David Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, who presented their petition in the House of Commons on 10 July.
16-year-old Philipp von der Wippel from Munich initiated the campaign with his friends while attending Heysham High School last year. After his visit at the Embassy Philipp said: “It was a great honour to meet the Ambassador. We will continue to do our best to help the Syrian people build a stable, free and safe country where human dignity is held in the highest regard”.
David Morris MP added: “I'm extremely proud to represent these young people. I hope that governments around the world will continue to work to remove this Syrian regime."
