Embassy staff raised the money by organising a Halloween Party in October last year. A proportion from each entry ticket sold was reserved for the charity. Around 200 guests, made up mainly from the London diplomatic community, partied at the German Embassy until well after midnight.

Ms Rupa-Dey Amin, Head of Local Fundraising for the London Region of the NSPCC, came to the Ambassador’s residence to receive the donation. She thanked the Embassy for this generous contribution and said that the money would be put to good use as her organisation was struggling to respond to the large number of calls by children in distress.
