'Under Attack' - new exhibition opens at London Transport Museum
An exhibition on how cities survived the Blitz opened on 6 September. In her opening speech Helma Orosz, Mayor of Dresden, said that the exhibition was a "gesture of reconciliation" and that it brought Germany and the UK "another step closer to each other".

The Federal Foreign Minister, Dr Guido Westerwelle, visited London during a two-day trip, which included short visits to Dublin and Malta. In a joint press conference with Foreign Secretary William Hague on 2 September, Mr Hague stated that Germany was "a firm friend to Britain".

“Two Plus Four” Treaty - a new exhibition opens at the Federal Foreign Office
The “Two Plus Four” process (from February - September 1990) was the answer to the new political situation after the fall of the Berlin Wall and cleared the way for the reunification of Germany on 3 October 1990. The exhibition opened on 1 September as part of the anniversary celebrations of twenty years of German unity.
