From 15 December 2010 citizens of Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina can travel without a visa to the Schengen area for tourist and business purposes for up to 90 days within every 6 months. Please note that visa free travel is only possible for holders of biometric passports.

From 11 January 2011 citizens of Taiwan can travel without a visa to the Schengen area for tourist and business purposes for up to 90 days within every 6 months. Please note that visa free travel is only possible with Taiwanese passports that include an ID number.

Following a change in the law, the Embassy will no longer be able to carry out identity checks in connection with opening a bank account, taking out a loan and similar purposes. Please ask your bank for further information.

Notes for visitors

1. The Embassy operates a baggage search scheme, to avoid delays you are asked to refrain from bringing any baggage, briefcases, laptops etc. with you.

2. Mobile phones and any other electronic equipment must be switched off before entry and remain so during your stay.

3. Photography on the premises is strictly forbidden.

4. Entry is at the discretion of the Embassy security staff. Please look after your personal belongings as the Embassy cannot accept liability for loss or theft.
