Appointment system:
All passport applicants have to make an appointment.

Passport appointments for the Embassy in London can only be booked online. To make an appointment online please click here

Please note that the appointments offered on this system are the earliest and the only appointments available.

Please note that due to a high demand there is a waiting period for appointments for up to 3 months. Therefore we are unable to offer you a short term appointment. We ask you to make an appointment as early as possible - preferably 6 months before your passport expires - to arrange an appointment. Please note that we operate a block appointment system whereby several applicants are booked in the same time slot. Therefore please expect waiting time.

Only in extreme emergencies (death or illness of a family member) we can offer individual emergency appointments.

You can also send us a fax with your contact details to 0207 824 1449.

Although we are keen to respond to your email and fax enquiries as soon as we can, we have a huge daily influx of emails and faxes, and therefore a processing time is necessary before we can answer all enquiries.

German passports

Passport applicants are required to apply in person after making an appointment. Where minors are concerned, both the parents or the guardian of the applicant must be present at the appointment.
As of 1 November 2007, every applicant for a European Union passport is required to provide a fingerprint, except if this is prevented by a long-term medical condition and in case of children aged under 6.

The application forms for new passports, changing addresses and reporting lost or stolen passports are available to download at the bottom of this page.

Application by post:
As of 16 October 2007 postal applications can no longer be accepted.

IMPORTANT:
The application form and other information concerning a passport application can also be requested directly from the Embassy. Kindly note that documents can only be forwarded when the applicants send us a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Requests without a self-addressed, stamped envelope cannot be processed.
