Goethe-Institut - Dossier on the German language

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is run jointly by the German higher education institutions and supported by the German Government. It seeks to foster relations to between higher education institutions in Germany and abroad, especially through scholarships for international student exchange and academic research.

The German School in London
The German School in London is the only school in the UK teaching a German curriculum. Classes are taught in German, with a strong focus on the English language.

Double Club
Double Club is a unique project for secondary schools organised by the Goethe-Institut and UK-German Connection, combining language learning with football training by members of Arsenal FC.

Many universities in Great Britain are cutting back on their language degree provision, but Royal Holloway (University of London) offers a comprehensive German course, which is also suitable for students with no previous knowledge of German.

Institute of German Studies - Birmingham University
Founded in partnership between the DAAD and the University of Birmingham, the Institute for German Studies is the only academic unit in the UK dedicated both to research into the politics, economics and international relations of contemporary Germany and the promotion of British-German relations.
